  • Dark Moon Reflection

Looking back at my New Moon wishes from 4 weeks ago, I’m seeing that focusing on myself was the right thing to do. I put my happiness first, and it definitely helped me focus on what mattered most. Some of the stressors I’ve experienced in the past took their rightful place in the back.

    What worked this cycle?

Putting myself first. I don’t do that enough, and I definitely slip out of it over time.

    What would I do differently?

I would like to lean into this more. Filling my own cup first has been very restorative, and helped me put things into perspective.

What is my soul asking for right now?

My soul is asking for rest. My soul is asking for less drama. My soul is asking for real connection.

  • January Full Moon Ritual

January’s full moon is a powerful time for divination. Align with this months’ moon magic to map out your personal energies for the year ahead. This ritual begins on the day of the full moon and continues for 11 days after. These 12 days represent the 12 months of the year.

You’ll need a tarot deck, your journal, and a pen.

    • Cleanse and ground your energy. You might like to call on Selence, the moon goddess, for clairvoyance and guidance.
    • When you feel ready, draw one card. This card represents January. Reflect on what the card might mean in your journal. Continue with the practice each day for 11 days until you have pulled a total of 12 cards across 12 days. The card number one represents January, ending with card number 12 representing December.
    • When you have completed the ritual, reflect on the notes in your journal. Make sure to add any additional insights gleaned from seeing the spread in its sum total.

This will help you map out your energy for the year. Tip: you might like to revisit your notes throughout the year, checking in to see if your energy map is resonating and drawing further guidance from the spread where needed.

  • Full Moon Ritual

    You’ll Need

    • A fresh white candle
    • A quiet place to practice

    The Ritual

    Cleanse your space and tools.

    Ground and center your energy.

Light the candle. Watch as the flame dances, bobs, and spins on the wick. Feel the light of the flame flow into your body and your being. Notice what emotions rise to the surface. Hold space for anything that comes up and witness yourself at this moment. Allow your feelings to move through you freely. When you feel ready, ask yourself: How do I want to move forward? Commit at this moment to do just that.

You might like to note your commitment to yourself in your journal. Now say out loud, “And so it is.”

Snuff or pinch out the candle.

  • New Moon Cleansing Bath Ritual

A cleansing New Moon bath, or shower, resets your energies for the coming lunar cycle and allows you to release any energies that no longer serve you.

    You’ll need:

    • Salt (Epsom salt is wonderful)
    • Three sprigs of fresh rosemary
    • A lemon, cut into slices

Find a quiet time during the New Moon phase when you can relax. Cleanse your space and ingredients. Get yourself into a magickal, joyful frame of mind. Play your favorite music and light a candle or two if you feel inclined.

    Run a bath.

Add your salt, rosemary, and lemon slices to the bathwater. Relax into the bath and allow yourself to feel peaceful in the fragrant water. Stay in this relaxed state for as long as you like.

When you are ready to get out of the bath, visualize the warm water easing all the worries, pressures, stresses, and negative energies from your being. Release all the things that no longer serve you into the water and allow the salt, lemon, and rosemary to cleanse and protect you energetically. Get out of the bath. Allow the tub to drain and watch all the energy that no longer serves you swirling down the drain and away from you.
