I just found out today during wind ensemble that we’re going to Killarney, Ireland in summer 2007! Dr. Speck submitted the band (basically we auditioned) for the WASBE Convention (World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles). Apparently, they only take one, MAYBE two bands from the United States. I’m so excited that we’ve won that honor! It looks like the university is pretty excited for us, too, as they’re going to be covering all expenses. 
I’m very excited! I have always wanted to visit Ireland, and I’ve never had the chance… never ever been overseas, actually, so I am doubly looking forward to this.
